Island Crown '25
Island Crown ‘25 is the fourth instalment of our annual social bouldering competition and once again we’re bringing out all the bells and whistles.
Island Crown is a 1-Day event, held on the 12th of April.
Same as last year, this year you can choose any of the three time slots as your qualification round, whether you climb in Open A, B, C or Social.
Same as last year, we also offer Social and Masters categories. These two categories do NOT have a finals round and podiums will be determined from your score after the 30 boulders 2hr climbing session.
Each qualifying slot lasts for 2 hours in which you will need to climb as many of the 30 qualifying boulders as possible. Total qualifying score is the amount of boulders climbed. Climbing a climb 1st go gives you 10 points, 2nd go 7 points, 3rd go 4 points and topping a boulder with any attempts more than 3 awards you one point.
After all qualifying rounds have been concluded, the top 6 highest scoring athletes in Open A, B and C are invited to compete in the finals rounds.
Qualifying round 1 starts at 8:00am*
Qualifying round 2 starts at 10:05am*
Qualifying round 3 starts at 12:10pm*
*Times are subject to change
Each round is capped at 60 competitors, so make sure to register for your preferred time slot as soon as possible.
Finals for Open C start at 3:10pm*
Finals for Open B start at 5:25pm*
Finals for Open A start at 7:40pm*
*Times are subject to change
Prizes, trophies and giveaways take place at 9:20pm and are followed by an afterparty with music, drinks and food till 11pm.
We are transforming our back carpark into a competition venue, meaning the day is filled with climbing, live music, food trucks, fire pits, mini-competitions such as hang-time, chin-up, rock pinch etc., give-aways and general good times. There will be stalls by our sponsors, local businesses and general climbing associated bodies such as Sport Climbing Tasmania, Climbers Club of Tasmania and Crag Care Tasmania.
All comp entries include a competition t-shirt and a competitors bag which you will receive on the day during the registration process!
